UPDATE 1 – November 22, 2024

Registrations – have been coming in steadily and we have approximately 35 people registered so far, comprising of some individual registrations and a couple of team registrations. It is also very positive that we have numerous enquiries coming thru as well.
For those of you who have sent through your registration’s you can expect to receive an email with confirmation details.

Rules – we have confirmed we will be following the rules of AFL 9s including the latest updates to the rules – please see attached

Travel Insurance – I want to stress the importance of adequate travel insurance.
March is cyclone season which can cause flight disruptions should we be unlucky so you want to be covered for that.
As well as having suitable medical coverage should it be needed.
NOTE: Final registrations will require proof of Travel Insurance.

Accommodation – there is a wide variety of accommodation options in and around Port Vila and March is a quiet time of the year so there should be plenty of availability and good prices.

VANUATU 9s Masters Carnival – hosted by AFL Vanuatu

Thursday 6th – Official welcome function, registrations and briefing Venue – TBC
Friday 7th & Saturday 8th – Games at Kawenu Field
Sunday 9th – Organised casual social function or own day

Over 35s Men and Women 9s rules
Over 45s Men and Women 9s rules
Over 55s Men and Women 9s rules

Notes:
• You can register as a team or as an individual player – www.aflvanuatu/event-registration/
• Teams and game schedule subject to final registrations
• We anticipate a minimum of 3 games plus finals over the 2 days
• At this time there are no mixed teams – pending final registrations
• It is the age you will be in 2025, not when you register.

REGISTRATION and FEES
• Registrations are open and will cut-off on December 31st 2024. We will do our best to cater for late registrations after that as they come in.
• $225 AUD includes games, welcome function, playing shirt and travel & to and from game venue
• $50 deposit to be paid upon registration – invoice will be sent to you upon registration

DETAILS

  • TRAVEL INSURANCE is mandatory and proof to be provided prior to final team registrations
  • Team shirts will be supplied (BYO boots/runners/shorts)
  • Team shirts are included in the rego fee and are yours to keep on completion
  • BYO strapping tape (its expensive to buy locally)

Name blo mifella lo Beachy mo mi President blo AFL Vanuatu!
G’Day All,
You can call me Beachy and I have the pleasure of being the President of the volunteer AFL Vanuatu committee.
We are super excited to be able to host this inaugural Vanuatu 9s carnival in our beautiful country and look forward to being able to welcome all of you to Port Vila next March.
We want to acknowledge the assistance of AFL Masters Queensland in supporting this event and we hope it will be first of many successful and annual events.
We believe we are the first to host a Masters carnival that caters for Men and Women teams which is special.
We will be running our first local masters 9s competitions in October / November this year so we can provide some local competitive teams for the event.
We have around 100 EOI for the event so please get your registration and deposit in early to help us in the planning.
We will be updating everyone via FB and our website as we go.
